Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 26 - 01 - 2015

100 Egyptian companies will be taking part in Dubai's Gulfood show next February, the Egyptian Food Export Council announced.
Gulfood is the world's biggest annual food and hospitality show where international flavours meet world-class businesses. Gulfood Dubai 2015 will take place on February 8-12.
The 100 Egyptian participated companies are operating in sectors of food crops and industries.
From his part, Alaa El Bahay – Chairman of the Egyptian Food Export Council - said the show is one of the most important gatherings for food industries and agricultural crops, noting that the council seeks to have greater participation in the show for the current year.
He also emphasised on the Arab markets ‘growing importance for the Egyptian exports. The council is working on an ambitious strategy to increase the volume of Egyptian food exports in the coming period, El Bahay added.
The Egyptian Food Export Council's strategy focuses on the promising markets such as the African and Russian. This comes in the light of the fact that the Egyptian food exports to Africa had recently registered all-time growth rates, El Bahay said. In addition, Egypt's food exports to Russia also witnessed a huge leap, as they increased by 60% in 2014.
Furthermore, the Egyptian official also added that the council's strategy would include participation in another food show in Tokyo next March in addition to an exhibition in Uganda. In cooperation with the Egyptian Exporters Association – Expolink (EEA), the council plans to take part in Uganda's food exhibition, which is set to be in the period from end of March and early April.
