Malaysia opens first café for reptile lovers in Kuala Lumpur, as the owner Yap Ming Yang wants to encourage visitors to learn appreciating snakes and lizards as much as they do with dogs and cats, Reuters reported on Monday. The café is located in the outskirts of the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, as it has a variety of reptile species like bearded dragons, leopard geckos and corn snakes placed in glass tanks. Yang believes that patrons of his café for animals would come to appreciate snakes and lizards just as much as they do furrier animals like dogs and cats. The species in the café are commonly bred in the country, said Yang, adding that customers can hold and pet the reptiles as they order food and drinks. "People only care about furry animals like cats and dogs, but they always leave out reptiles and snakes, so I hope showing the public how interesting they are," Yang added. The Southeast Asian country is very bio diverse, but is also one of the major sources for illegally trafficked wildlife.
