Clashes erupted between soldiers and fans of the Masry team on Friday afternoon following a decision by the Egyptian Football Association to ban the club from participating in the next two seasons and to freeze any game on the Port Said stadium for next three years, Al-Jazeera reported. The decision came to penalize the club after the early February massacre when more than 70 Ahly club fans were killed following a game between their team and that of Masry, reportedly by the fans of the latter. Masry fans denied repeatedly their responsibility, adding that the attack was plotted by former regime men. The club's fans stormed the streets of Port Said, infuriated by the decision.
