The Israeli army continued its ground offensive on the Gaza Strip yesterday on the eleventh day of the military operation. The Israeli army has started its incursion into the densely populated areas. In addition, the Israeli warplanes launched a series of air strikes at targets across the north and south of the Hamas-ruled enclave. This coincided with a ground incursion into the east of Khan Yunis and fierce clashes with Palestinian resistance northern Gaza. Forty Palestinians have been killed and scores injured in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a school belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Jabalya refugee camp to the north of Gaza, medical sources said. In addition, five Palestinians have been killed when the Israeli bombardment targeted two schools of UNRWA in Al-Shati refugee camp to the west of Gaza and Khan Yunis to the south.

Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said on Sunday night that its fighters killed 10 Israeli soldiers. "The fighters managed Monday night to induce a unit of Zionist commandos to a mined house to the northern region of Gaza. After that, they exploded the house and shot the commandos with heavy bullets," a Qassam Brigades statement said.
