The Ministry of Agriculture has completed the bylaws of the land reclamation companies, which provides that 30% of the shares of these companies should be owned by new graduates. Dr. Mohamed Gomaa, head of the Land Reclamation Department, said the ministry is expected to offer 140,000 acres in Toshka and Sinai for reclamation mid-January after the completion of the cadastral maps in light of the identified priorities and the special geographical location in terms of the road network, the availability of energy sources and the infrastructure.
Official sources said 100,000 acres of the Al-Salam Canal project in northern Sinai will be sold only to Egyptian companies and individuals, while 40,000 acres of the East Port Said Project will be offered for usufruct up to 48 years. The land will be withdrawn in case of any violation or lack of seriousness.
