Published in Albawaba on 07 - 02 - 2017

Today, Tuesday, Dr. ‘Abbass Shoman' , the Under-secretary of Al-Azhar received an Indonesian delegation headed by Dr. ‘Mohamed Aghwas Abdel-Ghafour', the director of ‘Madinet Al-Nagah' (City of Success) institute.
‘Shoman' said that Al-Azhar appreciates the Indonesian country and its people as they appreciate Al-Azhar and for their eagerness to enroll their children in the institutes and the university of Al-Azhar, emphasizing that the increase in the number of Indonesian students in Al-Azhar reflect the extent of their interest in education and its role in the renaissance of the nations, in maintaining their high level and their interdependence and in supporting their development plans.
He explained that the welcome of the Indonesian people to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar in his last visit to Indonesia is a practical evidence of the status Al-Azhar and its Grand Imam have in the hearts of Muslims there and all over the world.
He added that qualifying the foreign students, providing them with necessary experiences and teaching them the subjects of Sharia (Islamic Legislation) and modern subjects is a matter of interest and hard work for Al-Azhar so that those students can return to their homelands carrying Al-Azhar methodology and moderate ideology.
From their sides, the members of the delegation expressed their happiness for visiting Al-Azhar and for meeting its scholars looking forward to increasing the coordination and cooperation with this old educational institution and to benefiting from its great experience in spreading the tolerance of Islam and the moderate ideology. They also described the visit of Al-Azhar Grand Imam to Indonesia as a historical visit.
