Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb said Tuesday during his meeting with French President, Francois Hollande,in Paris, that countering terrorism is everyone's duty and Al-Azhar is ready to help France in any attempts in this regard, Al-Masry Al-Youm reported. "Islam is against blood shedding, whether the blood of Muslims or non-Muslims" he stressed. During the meeting, Al-Tayeb praised France's support for the Palestinian crisis as well for France's ability to distinguish between Islam and terrorism. The Grand Imam explained that the fight against extremist ideology needs a comprehensive look as well as the need to recognize the importance of making the young people aware of the dangers of extremism and terrorism. During the meeting, Hollande stressed on the need to exert all efforts and boosting all means to spread the culture dialogue among religions in France. He, also stressed on the importance of the ‘summit meeting' which brought the Grand Imam and the Pope together in Rome, which came at a very important timing to emphasize the importance of promoting inter-religious dialogue and coexistence.
