Egypt's Second and Third Field Armies launched during the past 48 hours a military operation against Wilayat Sinai terrorist group's seven hideouts in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid city, killing 70 militants, Al-Bawaba News reported Monday. The army also succeeded to wound 130 Wilayat Sinai militants, as well as destroying 20 vehicles and 30 motorcycles. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army and police have been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, after it had claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
