Prime Minister Sherif Ismail delivered a speech Tuesday before parliament over the extension of the state of emergency in North Sinai, Al-Bawaba News reported. Ismail said that the government has responded to the demands of the people of Sinai to reduce the hours of the curfew, announcing that President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has decided to extend the state of emergency in some parts of North Sinai for more three months to eliminate terrorists in the governorate. The prime minister stressed on the state's keenness to achieve a comprehensive development in Sinai, pointing out that "black terrorism" threatens the development process in the governorate. The state of emergency was declared for three months starting from April 29 until July 28 following the escalation of terrorist operations against public and private properties in Sinai.
