Egypt's Minister of Legal Affairs and the House of Representatives Magdy Agati's remarks on the government's plans to postpone discussion of its program in the parliament to Feb. 27 caused a state of controversy. A group of MPs said the discussion must be adjourned till specific parliamentary committees be formed and the parliament's draft Regulation Act be approved. Another team declined Agati's remarks, stressing that the government seeks to remain longer in power, he said. MP Ashraf Emara said he backs Agati's remarks for the parliament to launch specific committees to study the statement and submit their reports to the plenary. MP Eid Hekal, who hails from Al-Wafd Party, said that the Egyptian street is boiling to see the government's statement on its performance.
