The Arab League postponed on Wednesday the Joint Arab Defense Council meeting of defense and foreign ministers till a date to be determined later, Al-Bawaba News reported. The General Secretariat of Arab League said, in an official statement, that it had received an official request from Saudi Arabia expressing its desire to postpone the meeting which was scheduled to be held on Thursday. Arab states have said they will try to assemble a unified military force to combat common threats across the Middle East, particularly Islamic State terrorist group.
