The Egyptian army killed Saturday, Wilayat Sinai terrorist group leader in a military raid at North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid city, Youm7 News reported. Spokesperson for Egypt's Military, Mohamed Samir said that the army received information that Wilayat Sinai leader, Selim Soliman Al Haram is hiding in one of terrorist outposts in Sheikh Zuweid, pointing out that the army raided the outpost and succeeded to kill him. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel. In 2014, the group announced its allegiance to Islamic State (IS) jihadist group.
