"An armed group blocked the road ahead of an ambulance transporting a policeman who had fallen ill from a checkpoint in northeast Sinai," the source, requesting anonymity, told Anadolu Agency. "The militants forced the policeman to exit the ambulance, shot him dead and wounded his accompanying medic in the shoulder before seizing the vehicle and fled the scene," the source said, adding that two of the gunmen have been arrested following a pursuit. At the same time, the pollution of the Nile River remains a pending issue that is being underscored in Egypt with every water poisoning incident caused by the dumping of hazardous waste in the river. On April 22, a barge managed by an Egyptian army-owned company capsized in Upper Egypt, spilling 500 tons of phosphate.
