Conflicts among Wafd leaders continue
Published in Albawaba on 05 - 05 - 2015

General Secretary for Al-Wafd Party, Fouad Badrawi said Monday that the head of the party, Al Sayed Al Badawi held him inside the party headquarters and prevented him from leaving, Al Bawaba News reported.
Badrawi added that Al Badawi instructed the party's security personnel to close all the headquarters' doors and attack him by dogs, adding that this was a "foolish" action from Al Badawi.
Meanwhile, Al Wafd's party member and Al-Masry Al Youm newspaper owner, Salah Diab called Monday Al Sayed Al Badawi to resign and leave the party.
Salah added that he is not opposing Al Badawi but only wants another person to head the party, stressing that Al Wafd is the only party that is able to reunite all of the other parties together in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Moreover, Al-Wafd's vice President, Ahmed Ouda confirmed Monday that the party will form a legal committee to conduct investigations on Wednesday with members who froze their membership after they withdrew their confidence from Al Badawi.
Ouda added that if the members refused to attend the investigation they will be referred to the party's high authority in order to take the appropriate decision regarding them.
On May 2, Eight Al Wafd members, including Badrawi announced that they withdrew their confidence from Al Badawi who later referred them to the disciplinary board.
Al Wafd Party is a nationalist liberal party established in 1978 and considered to be the extension of one of the oldest political parties in Egypt that carried the same name, which was dissolved after 1952 Revolution.
