President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi meets a US Congress delegation Monday, including key figures from the U.S. House of Representatives at Ittihadiya presidential palace in Heliopolis, Al Bawaba News reported. The congressional delegation is headed by California Rep. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, who was elected in 2002, and replaced Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers, who is retiring. Rogers has been supportive of the Egyptian military during his service, especially after the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi on July 3rd, 2013. According to the presidency press release, the discussions will cover matters of mutual interest between the two countries, as well as regional and international issues. On the other hand, German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier has arrived Cairo late Sunday accompanied by high level delegation to meet President Sisi and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. The three meet Monday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and regional and international issues of mutual concern, including terrorism that threatens the region and the ways to counter it especially in Libya and Syria.
