Cairo Criminal Court resumed Sunday the trial of 68 members of Al Qaeda member Mohamed Al Zawahry's terrorist cell over terror-related charges, Al Bawaba News reported. The 68 defendants, including 18 fugitives, face charges of forming a terrorist group that seek to spread chaos in the society, overthrow the regime, assault security personnel and civilians, in addition to sabotaging churches. Egypt's Supreme State Security court referred early in April Al Qaeda member Mohamed Rabei Al-Zawahry, the cell founder to the Cairo criminal court as police investigations showed the cell was acting through separate sub-groups to spread chaos across society.
