photo: Sherif Mahmoud * Orphan Day was no less moving at the Suzanne Mubarak Library in Heliopolis, where the Association for Heliopolis Development Services treated 250 lovely little orphans from Al-Amal Foundation to a Mustafa Qamar performance, Sesame World, a clown and an endless supply of sweets. photo: Ayman Barayez * What a dream reception, lovelies. Greek is a synonym for marvellous at the worst of times, as you know, and especially so when it comes to my friend the Greek Ambassador to Egypt Panayotis Vlassopoulos, whose home celebration of the Greek National Day was an opportunity to see the voluptuous actress Laila Elwi, pop star Mohamed Hamaqi and the Greek singer Rola. * Happy days, sweets, our favourite Opera House Director Abdel-Moneim Kamel received Russia's honorary Order of Merit for endorsing cultural links between the two countries. At the Russian Cultural Centre and in the presence of its head, my good friend the director of the Russian Cultural Centre Oleg Fomin, Kamel shook hands with Russian Federation Ambassador to Cairo Mikhail Bogdanov, no less. Which is not to forget our link with beloved India, dears, emphasised once again at the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture, from 9 to 20 April, 2006. There my very remarkable friend graphic artist Badreddin Awad, winner of the fifth Egypt International Triennale of Graphic Arts this February, exhibits "Glimpses of India and Egypt" -- a real treat.
