Born in Alexandria, El-Chazli is a postdoctoral researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research and works on the ERC-DREAM project. He holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne and the University of Lausanne. Mon 15, 7pm: “The Novel of Heliopolis”, a seminar by the Countess Amélie d'Arschot. The seminar brings us back to the wonderful adventure of building the new city of Heliopolis, which began in 1905 in the middle of the desert, a few kilometers from Cairo, under the leadership of the great industrial leader Édouard Empain and Boghos Nubar Pacha. She is a historian and director of the Royal Union of Historical Houses of Belgium and the descendent of Boghos Nubar Pacha. The seminar will be followed by the signing of her book The Novel of Heliopolis (2017), which was printed for the third time since the book appeared.
