♣ The Egyptian pavilion at the Jata International Tourism Forum in Japan won first prize as the most attractive pavilion for the audience, which presented a variety of unique activities, Samia Fakhri reports from Tokyo. The Director of the Tourism Promotion Organisation Sami Mahmoud explained that the exhibition, organised by the Japanese Association of Tourist Agents, is one of the biggest events of the Asian travel industry. JATA is attended by tourism organisations and government representatives from over 150 countries; it comprised 700 pavilions visited by 150,000 people this year. The Egyptian pavilion was designed by a Japanese architect in the shape of the Abu Simbel Temple and during the opening, a number of folk Egyptian dance shows were performed by two Japanese artists while Al-Tanoura dance was presented by an Egyptian who lives in Tokyo.
