Egyptian security forces fired tear gas and exchanged gunfire with armed groups in the Guiza's Kerdasa district (15 km of Cairo) early on Thursday, state TV reported. At least '28 gunmen and terrorists' have been arrested as police comb the area for suspects, Cairo investigation chief Mohamed Al-Sharkawy said. Security troops stormed into the area to arrest people accused of torching police stations and killing about 11 security officers in clashes that erupted following the army's ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi last July. Police forces had not been allowed in Kerdasa since then. At least one police officer died in Thursday violence, state TV reported.
