Constitutionality of Egypt's Shura Council to be decided on 12 May Appeal challenging election law for Egypt's upper house of parliament to be heard on 12 May, court says
Egypt's Supreme Administrative Court has said it will hear an appeal against the constitutionality of the Shura Council on 12 May. The appeal challenges the legality of the law which governed elections to the upper house of parliament. If the law is found unconstitutional, it could threaten its future. In June 2012, the High Constitutional Court declared the People's Assembly election law unconstitutional and the legislative body was later dissolved. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/69858.aspx
