CAF okays new Mazembe Stadium for CL matches
The African football Confederation (CAF) give DR Congo champions TP Mazembe the green light to play their continental games at new stadium
Published in Ahram Online on 10 - 07 - 2012

TP Mazembe will be allowed to hold their home African Champions League games at their new stadium in Lubumbashi, CAF said.
“We would like to inform you that the match in question will take place at TP Mazembe stadium in Lubumbashi,'' read a CAF letter sent to the DR Congo club.
The new 14,500-seat stadium's turf is artificial. It will host its first official game on 22 July when Mazembe take on Ghana's Berekum Chelsea in their second Group B game.
The 2009 and 2010 African champions played their previous Champions League matches this year at the Municipal stadium in Lubumbashi.
Mazembe lost 2-1 to Ahly in the opening game of their group, which also includes Egypt's Zamalek and Ghana's Chelsea.
