Just announced after voting by members of the Supreme Council for Culture, author Aslan, scenarist Hamed and social scientist El-Gowhary win the state's highest award in their respective fieldsThe winners of the prestigous Nile Award for 2012 have just been announced: they are renowned late author Ibrahim Aslan in the field of literature, talented scenarist Waheed Hamed, and social scientist Mohamed El-Gowhary.
The L:E400,000 award is the highest literary honour given by the state and was before awarded to Naguib Mahfouz and last year to Samir Raghab.
