Egypt's PM heads to Amman to participate in 29th joint committee meetings

Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and a ministerial delegation left Cairo on Tuesday for the Jordanian capital of Amman to take part in the 29th session of the Joint Egyptian-Jordanian Higher Committee.
The session, set to be held today, will address means of enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Jordan in various fields, a statement by the Egyptian Cabinet read.
This includes especially trade exchange and ways to facilitate flow of goods to markets. Areas of cooperation between the two countries also include housing, electricity, water resources and other fields.
The delegation accompanying Madbouly includes the ministers of electricity, petroleum, supply, international cooperation, health, communications, housing, transportation, civil aviation, agriculture and trade.
Also, chiefs of the Egyptian Drug Authority and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones as well other officials and representatives of concerned parties are accompanying the PM.
Madbouly and his Jordanian counterpart, Bisher Khasawneh, will co-chair the committee's meetings .
Egyptian and Jordanian officials have held preparatory meetings in Cairo over the past few weeks to review progress in implementing previously agreed upon joint projects.
Since its launch in 1985, the Joint Egyptian-Jordanian Higher Committee has held regular meetings to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Over the past decades, the committee's meetings resulted in the signing of 147 protocols, agreements and documents of cooperation between the two countries.
