Mo Salah joins Egypt team training ahead of AFCON qualifiers
Published in Ahram Online on 22 - 03 - 2021

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has trained with Egypt squad on Monday, one day after arriving to Cairo, ahead of the Pharaohs 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros on 25 and 29 March respectively.
Coach Hossam El-Badri will be eager to have his blistering winger in the remaining games of the qualifiers for the first time since he took over in September 2019 to give the team a much-needed spark.
The 28-year-old winger missed the two opening games of the qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros due to an ankle injury and was forced out of Togo's double header last November after testing positive for COVID-19.
Egypt is at the top of Group G with eight points and need at least a point against Kenya to secure their passage to the Cameroon edition.
Egypt started its preparatory camp on Sunday and foreign-based players have been joining in since.
Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny and Aston Villa winger Mahmoud "Trezeguet" Hassan are set to arrive to Cairo on Monday night after featuring in Sunday's Premier League games, while Ittihad Jeddah defender Ahmed Hegazi will join the team in Kenya.
The Pharaohs will take off to Nairobi on Tuesday.
